The Denver 7 Used the Latest in Technology to Provide Unprecedented Coverage at the Democratic National Convention

We are pleased to celebrate the successful coverage provided by the Denver 7 during the Democratic National Convention this past week. To date, the Democratic Convention was the biggest and most watched event that any of these bloggers had ever covered. Though none of the bloggers have a professional journalism background nor an elaborate production team or news crew, their use of resources, ability to adapt to the hectic schedules, navigational nightmares, and personal set backs did not affect their reporting.

The Denver 7 relied on some of the latest in affordable and user-friendly resources to bring their readers a front row view of the convention. Below is a list of the resources they employed and how they used them.

• Gina McCauley (http://www.whataboutourdaughters.com/), (http://www.michelleobamawatch.com/). She used Twitter for updates, Photobucket for videos, CoverItLive for live blogging and Blogtalk radio.


• Shawn Williams (http://www.dallassouthblog.com/)- He used CoverItLive for live blogging, Utterz, Google Calendar to show his readers his agenda, and Twitter for updates.


• L.N. Rock (http://www.africanamericanpoliticalpundit.com/)- He used Blogtalk radio and Twitter.


• Oliver Willis (http://www.oliverwillis.com/)- He used Twitter for routine updates.


• Liza Sabater (http://www.culturekitchen.com/)- She used Twitter to provide updates too.
